Laptop Repairs on the Gold Coast

A cracked screen, a battery that won’t hold a charge or a keyboard with dead keys doesn’t mean you need a new laptop. I’m Marc Wannenmacher, a mobile computer specialist based in Robina, and I’ve been repairing computers on the Gold Coast for over 25 years.

What I repair

I replace the parts that wear out or get broken, using components ordered from the manufacturer:

  • Screens – cracked, flickering, lines across the display or no picture at all
  • Batteries – won’t charge, drains in an hour, or the laptop only runs plugged in
  • Keyboards – missing, sticking or dead keys, and spills

Using manufacturer parts means the replacement fits and works the way the original did.

What I don’t do

I don’t do board-level repairs. That includes charging ports that are soldered to the motherboard. If I find the fault is on the board, I’ll tell you straight.

Windows laptops and Macs

I work on all Windows laptops and on Macs. One honest warning for Mac owners: parts for newer MacBooks are very hard to get, so I’ll check whether a part is available before promising a hardware repair.

Is it worth repairing?

Sometimes it isn’t, and I’ll say so. Tell me the make and model and what it’s doing, and I’ll give you a straight answer on whether the repair makes sense or whether your money is better spent on a replacement. If you do go new, I can set it up and move your files across.

How it works

I charge an hourly rate with a one hour minimum, and there’s no call-out fee. I cover Robina and the surrounding southern Gold Coast suburbs, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. Just send me a text on 0403 261 661 with your laptop’s make and model. I’m usually out on a job, so a text is the quickest way to reach me. I’ll happily check whether I can get the part, and we can have a chat about whether it’s worth fixing before we book anything in.
